Mumbai won the Indian Premier League final for the 5th time, defeating Delhi Capitals

Mumbai Indians won the IPL title for the 5th time. It became the team to win the tournament the most times. Rohit Sharma's team defeated Delhi Capitals by 5 wickets for the first time. The loss added an unsolicited record with Delhi. Delhi became the first team to lose by scoring less than 160 runs in the final.

On the other hand, Mumbai’s team, won the title 6 times. Earlier in the 2010 final too, Mumbai chased against Chennai Super Kings, but they lost that match.

Highlights of the Match

•Delhi won the toss and gave a target of 157 runs while batting first. In response, Mumbai lost 5 wickets in 18.4 overs and won the match, scoring 157 runs. Rohit Sharma scored 68 runs in 51 balls and Ishan Kishan scored 33 runs in 19 balls.

•Jofra Archer was selected as Player of the Series

•Trent Bolt was voted Player of the Match. He took 3 wickets for 30 runs in 4 overs. At the same time, Jofra Archer of Rajasthan Royals was adjudged Player of the Series. He took 20 wickets in 14 matches and also scored 113 runs.

•Rahul Sharma got the Orange cap for scoring the highest scores and Rabada got the Purple Cap for the maximum number of Wickets

•Kings XI Punjab captain Lokesh Rahul scored the highest score of 670 runs in 14 matches and named Orange Cap. At the same time, Delhi Capitals fast bowler Kagiso Rabada won the Purple Cap. He played 17 matches in the season, taking 30 wickets at most.

•This is the second time the captains of both the teams put up a fifty in the final. This happened earlier in the  2016 final when, Hyderabad captain David Warner scored 69 runs and Bangalore captain Virat Kohli scored 54 runs.

Mumbai played like real champions

•Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma and Quinton Dickock gave a quick start. Both shared a 45-run opening partnership.

•Dickock scored 20 runs and was caught by wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant at the ball of Stoinis.

•After this, the team lost the second wicket for 90 runs. Suryakumar (19) was runout. After this, Rohit shared 47 runs for the third wicket with Ishaan. Rohit was dismissed after scoring 68 runs.

•A 10-run partnership between Ishaan Kishan and Pollard for the fourth wicket. Pollard was dismissed for 9 off the first ball of the 17th over.

•When 3 runs were needed for the win, Hardik was dismissed. Krunal and Ishaan, who came to the crease, chased the target with 8 balls left. Ishaan scored 33 runs off 19 balls.

•Rohit Sharma became the second player to play 200 matches in IPL. Earlier, Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni played 200 matches in IPL. Apart from Mumbai Indians, Rohit has also played in the Deccan Chargers in the league. This is Rohit's 155th match for Mumbai.
