Mithali Raj Announces Retirement From All Forms of International Cricket

India's one of the greatest women cricketer, Mithali Raj announced to retire from all forms of International cricket. Read further to know what she wrote on her social media.

On Wednesday, June 08, one of the amazing women cricketers ever, Mithali Raj, announced her retirement from all forms of International cricket. In her glorious career, Mithali has scored a record of 7,805 runs in 232 ODIs. The cricketer has represented India in 12 Test matches and 89 T20 International matches. 

Earlier, Mithali has announced her retirement from the T20 format and the other formats after India's ODI World Cup campaign completed in March.

Mithali announces retirement 

While announcing the retirement, Mithali shared her thoughts on her official Twitter account. She wrote, "I set out as a little girl on the journey to wear the India blues as representing your country is the highest honour. The journey was full of highs and some lows. Each event taught me something unique and the last 23 years have been the most fulfilling, challenging and enjoyable years of my life." 

Further, she wrote, "Like all journeys, this one too must come to an end. Today is the day I retire from all forms of International Cricket."

Mithali - The First Woman to play ICC World Cup Six Times 

In 2022, Mithali has become the first woman and the third cricketer ever, to appear at six ICC Women's Cricket World Cups. In March 2021, she broke the record of scoring 10,000-run mark in International cricket, across formats. To reach this milestone in International cricket, Charlotte Edwards from England was the first woman player. She completed her career with 10,273 runs in 309 games, while Mithali has achieved the milestone in 311 matches. 

Mithali has scored 7,805 runs in 232 matches at an average of 50.64 including 7 centuries and 64 fifties. She has also scored 699 runs in 12 Test matches and an aggregate of 2,364 runs in 89 matches of T20 Internationals.
