The fourteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has concluded with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as the champion side. Though there were several major hurdles during the delayed season, which were completed in two terms, BCCI left no stone unturned to make things exciting and thrilling for the fans across the globe. After the completion of the tournament, now the main focus is on the upcoming IPL 2022 Mega Auction. 

The IPL 2022 Mega Auction 

Till now, there is no such confirmation from the BCCI, but most probably the IPL 2022 mega auction will take place somewhere between January 2022 to February 2022. The tentative deadline for the auction is 25 January 2021 to 10 February 2022.

IPL 2022 to begin from...

The fifteenth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is likely to begin on April 2 with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) taking on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Chepauk, Chennai's home ground. The final of the tournament is expected to be held in the first week of June. 

New rules for the mega auction 

IPL 2022 mega auction rules are already in the public domain. As per the new IPL 2022 mega auction rules, each of the existing eight Indian Premier League franchises can retain a maximum of four cricketers from their IPL 2021 squad.

New franchises/teams in IPL 2022 

Two news teams have been added to the existing pool of eight franchises. The BCCI has already talked about adding two new teams. Ahmedabad-owned CVC Capital and RPSG Group-owned Lucknow are the two new members of the IPL. CVC Capitals paid Rs 5,625 crore to operate the new IPL franchise based in Ahmedabad, while RPSG spent Rs 7,090 crore to acquire Lucknow.
