IPL 2020: Here’s a low down on why Mumbai Indian’s team is an impressive one

IPL’s most successful team Mumbai Indian’s won the trophy once again this year. This is their second consecutive victory and overall 5th victory. The perfect 11 team has been the reason behind this victory. Other than captain Rohit Sharma, all other players in the team have been winners. In fact, cricketers Suryakumar Yadav and Ishaan Kishen who have made more than 450 runs in the tournament have not played international cricket till date.

The reason behind Mumbai Indian’s impressive impression in the league is that the team has a capability of winning the match even without captain Rohit Sharma. This year, Rohit couldn’t play 4 matches due to an injury, in his place Kieron Pollard led the team to win 3 matches out of 4.

Mumbai also broke the myth

With this victory Mumbai Indians have proven one myth wrong. It was said that Mumbai only wins the tournament and emerges champions in odd years, because in the past Mumbai has won the tournament in 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019.

Mumbai Indian’s is the second team to win the tournament for two consecutive years

Another achievement that Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indian’s team has added to its credit is that it is the second team to win the trophy for two consecutive years. Before them it was Mahendra Sigh Dhoni headed Chennai Super Kings who won the title for two years back to back.

Captain Rohit Sharma and Kieron Pollard are a winning combination

Both captain Rohit Sharma and all-rounder Kieron Pollard have been a part of the winning team for five years. The two also have a major contribution in the teams victory. Whichever year the two have made more than 250 runs, that year the team has won the trophy. In Rohit’s absence Kieron took charge to lead the team. This season Rohit Sharma made 332 runs including 3 half-centuries. And Pollard has had the highest strike rate of 191.42, along with making 268 runs this season.

Trading Trent Bolt with Delhi has been a turning point

Trent Bolt who played from Delhi Capitals last year, was bought by Mumbai this year at Rs 3.20 crores. Due to personal reasons, the most successful baller of the league Lasith Malinga didn’t play this year. In such a case, Bolt’s trading proved be a turning point for Mumbai. This season Bolt has taken 25 wickets, along with this he put 157 dot balls and 3 maiden overs.

The camaraderie between Suryakumar and Ishaan

Ishaan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav’s camaraderie has been a major reason behind Mumbai Indians winning the trophy this year. Suryakumar made more than 400 runs for the third consecutive year, whereas, this season Ishaan made the highest number of runs 516 for Mumbai. Only the two of them have managed to score 40% of the entire teams total score. Ishaan has also hit the maximum sixes (30) this season.

Mumbai has the most experienced players

The average age of the team players is 29, 8 players are between 20 to 25 years, 10 are between 26 to 30 years and 8 are above 30 years. Most of the players are an important part of their country or league’s team. All foreign players Kieron Pollard (West Indies), Quinton de Kock (South Africa), Trent Bolt (New Zealand), Nathan Coulter-Nile ( Australia),, are experienced players of their country. Even Indian cricketers Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Jaspreet Bumrah and others have proven their game and talent across the world.

Jaspreet Bumrah’s impressive balling gave the opposite team a tough time

Mumbai’s fast bowler Jaspreet Bumrah took 27 wickets this year, and he has always been credited as the only Indian player to take the highest number of wickets. Before Jaspreet it was Sunsrisers Hyderabad player Bhuwaneshwar Kumar who had the highest number of wickets to his credit. In 2017, Bhuwi had taken 26 wickets in the season.
