The Indian team have set foot in Australia for their first cricket series amidst Corona. Here the team has to play 3 ODIs, 3 T20s and 4 Tests. On this tournament, Yorker Specialist T Natarajan can make a debut for the Indian team. Apart from him, players like Mohammed Siraj and Navdeep Saini may get to play in the test, on the other hand player Sanju Samson might get a chance to make an ODI debut.
Samson is also being considered as a replacement for Dhoni
In this season of the IPL, wicketkeeper Sanju Samson was the top scorer for the team Rajasthan Royals. He scored the 375 runs in 14 matches, which was the highest. Samson has scored 2584 runs in 107 matches in IPL matches so far. Also, as a wicket-keeper, he sent 35 players back to the pavilion. Samson has played 4 T20 matches for Team India as yet. He is awaiting for his debut in ODIs and Test matches.
Siraj's debut in Test series from Australia is difficult
Mohammad Siraj has been selected in the Indian team for the Test series against Australia. It is very difficult for him to get a chance in the first Test when players like Jasprit Bumrah and Ishant Sharma are already on the team. There are 4 Tests in the series, so it is possible that Siraj can be given a chance in the end or in the middle.
Indian team could win only 7 Tests in Australia
As yet, 98 Test matches have been held between India and Australia. Out of them, Team India won 28 matches and lost a staggering number of 42 matches. A match tie and 27 test draws have also happened. Team India played 48 Tests at home against Australia, out of which 7 have been won and 29 have been lost.
India won just 1 test series in Australia
So far 26 Test series have been played between the two teams. In which, Team India has won a total 9 series and lost 12. 5 series. Team India played 12 Test series at home against Australia, out of which only 1 series was won by Team India in December 2018. and 8 were lost and 3 Test series draws were also played.
Team India’s schedule
The 1st ODI day-night match will be held on 27th November in Sydney. The 2nd ODI day-night match will be held on 29th November in Sydney as well. The 3rd ODI day-night match will be held on 2nd December in the city of Canberra.
The T20 Matches will commence from 4th December in Canberra, and will go on till the 8th of December, with the matches being played at alternative days.
The Schedule for the test matches is as follows:
1st Test Day-Night from 17th to 21st December In Adelaide.
2nd Test Day-Night from 26th to 30th December In Melbourne.
3rd Test Day-Night from 7th to 11th January In Sydney.
4th Test Day-Night from 15th to 19th January In Brisbane.
