Indian Fencer Bhavani Devi Receives Arjuna Award
Indian fencer Bhavani Devi has received her Arjuna award from Sports Minister Anurag Thakur.

On Monday, CA Bhavani Devi, the first Indian fencer who has participated at the Olympics, has received her Arjuna Award from Sports Minister Anurag Thakur. On Saturday, Bhavani was not able to attend the sports awards ceremony as she was participating in a competition in France. However, as she returned to the country, she met Thakur and got honored with the award.
Expressing her happiness, Bhavani tweeted, "Holding the Arjuna Award was My Childhood Dream, and today, it happened. I am so much Emotional. Work Hard & Play for the Country. One day, the country will pay back. Thank YOU."
In another tweet, she wrote, "It was pleasure meeting @ianuragthakur, sir. We discussed fencing and challenges faced by women athletes in this sport. The sports ministry will give all possible support to bring this sport up and make accessible to the youths of the country."
