The Indian women cricket team is set to begin their 2022 ICC ODI World Cup campaign against Pakistan at Bay Oval Tauranga on March 6. On Wednesday, the ICC has confirmed the full schedule of the event with New Zealand challenging West Indies in the opening clash of the tournament on March 4.

Originally, the event was scheduled to be conducted in February-March last year but it was postponed by a year due to coronavirus pandemic. A total of eight teams will be challenging for the trophy including New Zealand, India, defending champions England, Australia, South Africa, Bangladesh, Pakistan and West Indies.

"As per the schedule, total 31 matches will be played from March 4 to April 3 and the finale will be held at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch. The matches will be played across six New Zealand cities including Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin, Hamilton, Tauranga, and Wellington", reported Cricket Addictor.
