Doctors treating BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, who was hospitalized after suffering a 'mild' heart attack, said his condition was stable.

In a statement the Hospital treating Ganguly said that that former 48-year-old Indian captain suffered from chest problems while doing treadmill at his home gym. He has a family history of  Chronic ischemic heart diseases. When he was brought to the hospital at 1 pm, his pulse was 70 per minute. BP 130/80 mm Hg and other diagnostic parameters were up to normal limits.

On Saturday, obstruction was found in three arteries of Ganguly's heart, after which a stent was installed. The bulletin issued late Sunday night from the private hospital where Ganguly is admitted said that Ganguly's coronary angiography was done at 3 pm and his echocardiography would be done again on Monday.

It has been told that Ganguly's blood pressure is 110/80 and the oxygen level in his body is 98 percent. Doctors claimed that the former cricket team captain will have to undergo another Angioplasty, because of his condition. The hospital spokesperson said in response to a question that the medical board is not considering the option of bypass surgery. He said, "Our expert committee will decide today about further treatment."

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee reached the Woodlands Hospital in Kolkata and took stock of Ganguly's health. Earlier, he had tweeted and said that it is sad to hear that Sourav Ganguly suffered a mild cardiac arrest and was admitted to the hospital. I wish him a quick recovery. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.
