On Thursday evening, India's Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi shared his best wishes to the Indian sportsmen who are in Birmingham to compete in the ongoing Commonwealth Games.
Tweeting about his thoughts, PM Modi wrote, "Best wishes to the Indian contingent at the start of the 2022 CWG in Birmingham. I am confident our athletes will give their best and keep inspiring the people of India through their stupendous sporting performances."

Under the focus of Prime Minister Modi, India is growing in sports as the players are getting better opportunities for sports infrastructure and cultural development.
India's sports minister Anurag Thakur also shared his best wishes for the Indian contingent. Taking to his Twitter handle, he wrote, "Wishing the Indian contingent at 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham the very best !!! Excited and looking forward to seeing our athletes give their best performance ever ! India ???????? is cheering for you !"

The opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games 2022
The opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games 2022 was held on July 28 in Birmingham. Indian badminton star PV Sindhu and Indian field hockey group chief Manpreet Singh were the flagbearers for the Indian contingent at the opening ceremony.
India is supposed to score their award count of 66 medals, 26 gold, 20 silver, and 20 bronze, in the past release of the CWG held at Gold Coast Australia, where the nation completed third in the general table behind Australia and England.
