History of the Day 

In 1948, the first World Health Assembly was organized by WHO. Later, the first World Health Day was observed on July 22, 1949, but later the date was changed to April 7. Since then the day is being observed every year. In 1948, on April 7, 61 countries signed an agreement for the inception of the World Health Organization. 

The theme of the Day 

In 2022, the theme for World Health Day is 'Our Planet, Our Health'. The theme focuses on global attention on the overall well-being of the world and its people.
