Ever wonder why someone looks more attractive? or are you someone who is trying to be more attractive to others? Well you read it right. There are some psychological reasons behind someone looking more attractive to others.

"Attraction is the power of eliciting feelings of desire, interest, or liking. The psychology of attraction refers to the study of the reasons why we're attracted to certain people over others", said Montoya RM, Horton.

Psychological Factors affecting Attractiveness

1 Pupil

The pupil of our eyes resize in response to emotions, they get bigger when we’re happy. As showed by studies we subconsciously consider people with large pupils more attractive as it indicates their mutual interest in us.

2 Proportion of the waist

In a woman's appearance, the waist’s proportion to the hips has always been considered as the most important feature. As some research suggest, the lower the waist-hip ratio is, the more attractive a woman seems to a man.

3 Symmetrical Face

As confirmed by the researchers, humans have a tendency to find symmetrical faces more attractive than those with less symmetry.

4 Average Looks

As per a recent study, an appearance that looks more average to us is preferred. Our brain links it with biological advantages such as good genes, or our brains simply prefer more typical faces.

5 Diet Habits

As per study, food preferences can actually make a man more attractive to a woman. The smell of men who recently ate fruits and vegetables is considered more preferable over men who mostly ate food like bread and pasta.

6 Voice

As per research, women associate men’s lower voices with maturity, thus considering it more attractive.

7 Smell

A woman’s scent can actually affect how attractive they seem to men. As per research, during the stage of ovulation women become more attractive to a man because of the higher level of hormones at this time.
