Teenagers Don’t Need Paracetamol After Covaxin, Says Bharat Biotech
In a recent update, Bharat Biotech has said that there is no need for teenagers to take Paracetamol after taking Covaxin jab.

In an official statement, Bharat Biotech said that there is no need to give any medicine to the kids, post the Covid jab. As the Covid-19 cases and Omicron variant cases are surging, the vaccination drive for teenagers aged 15-17 is underway across the country. However, there has been some confusion about giving kids paracetamol to help ease the side effects.

Covaxin manufacturer, Bharat Biotech shared the clarification on Twitter and said that there is no need to give paracetamol or any other painkiller to teenagers after vaccination. The information has been shared after they received feedback on certain immunization centers recommending three paracetamol 500 mg tablets along with Covaxin for teenagers.
As per the Union Health Ministry’s revised vaccination guidelines, "teenagers from 15 to 17 years of age would only be administered a Covaxin dose."
Vaccination for Teenagers
In India, the vaccination drive for teenagers started on January 3, 2022, and within two days, it crossed the 1-crore mark. The Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya took to Twitter to share this information. He said, "Superb enthusiasm among Young India for Vaccination Syringe. Over 1 crore youngsters between 15-18 age group have received 1st dose of #COVID19 vaccine that too on the 3rd day of vaccination drive for children. I appeal to all eligible young friends to get vaccinated at the earliest."
