In simple words the lack of proper flow of blood in the body is called Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD). In this condition, the person has difficulty in walking and there is pain in the feet. Diabetes, high blood pressures are some types of vascular diseases, which is known as peripheral artery disease.
Dr. Purdy explains, "If your legs are swollen every day and there are marks on your legs, then it is a symptom of venous insufficiency. These marks are formed in people suffering from obesity and standing for a long time. Use of compression stockings on the advice of doctors as it helps put pressure on feet. Elevating the legs also provides temporary relief. These changes in the skin are due to the iron being oxidized from hemoglobin in the blood, which for a long time only in the veins without going back to the upper parts of the body remains accumulated.
This condition can be relieved by wearing compression socks or doing exercises that keep the legs elevated. Numbness, tingling, coldness or yellowing of the skin on the feet is sign of poor blood circulation. This condition gets worsens without any physical activity. Ignoring it for a long time can also increase the risk of heart attack.
If severe pain is felt in legs while walking, stopping for a while and walking again, then this condition tells that the flow of blood is not smooth. This condition is called "claudication". This type of pain is very severe and takes some time to cure.
Dr Purdy said that the problem of blood circulation in the hands or upper body. The hands are very close to the heart, so there are very few problems in its arteries or veins. This condition in the body is called Reynaud’s syndrome. Medicines also can help overcome this disease, but it would be better to treat it with a good doctor.
