Devotees start their day by waking up early and consuming Sehri before sunrise. Followed by Fajr- the morning prayers. Then till evening, devotees observe fast without eating and drinking anything. In the evening, the fast is broken by having Khajur during iftar and they also perform Maghrib- the evening prayers. Apart from this, it is a mandate for Muslims to avoid smoking and forceful vomits while they are observing fast as it might lead to breaking of their fast. Also, fast observers need to avoid music listening. It is advised to stay away from negative feelings and thoughts toward anybody and focus on the good side.
