This day is also marked by the ninth day of the auspicious Navratri festival. The ninth day of Navratri is celebrated by Hindus with Kanya Pujan or Kanjak. Young girls are invited to the devotees' house and prasad with puri, chana, coconut, and fruits is offered to them. Devotees seek blessings from young girls as they symbolize Goddess Durga.
