The fast of Pradosh is observed by devotees to please Lord Shiva and seek his blessings. In Hinduism Lord Shiva's worship is considered as a high value. The Pradosh Vrat is observed on the Trayodashi Tithi of every month. It is believed that devotees who observe this fast with devotion get all their wishes granted by Lord Shiva. In every month, there are two Trayodashi tithi. The Trayodashi tithi of Krishna Paksha of the month of Margashirsha falls on Thursday, December 2.
Shubh Muhurat
Trayodashi will commence at 02:05 am on December 2 and will end at 10:56 pm on the same day. The exact hour for worshiping of Pradosh Vrat, which falls on Thursday, will start from 7.19 pm till 9.17 pm.
Puja Vidhi
Devotees wake up at Brahma Muhurta on this day and take a bath with Ganga Jal. After that, cleanse by performing ‘aachman’. Begin the prayers by offering water to Lord Surya. Now, recite Shiva Chalisa and mantras and offer flowers, incense, fruits, datura, milk, dahi, and panchamrit to Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati. Conduct aarti, pray to Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati for prosperity and longevity.
