Symptoms of Omicron variant in children

The US National Health Service (NHS) says that some special symptoms of new variants of corona are being seen in children.

- High fever

- Persistent cough

- Fatigue

- Headache

- Sore throat

- Loss of appetite

At the same time, the Covid-19 infected cases of young patients and children in hospitals of South Africa are increasing rapidly. Most of the children below the age of 5 years need hospitalization.

Moreover, doctors in South Africa said that the symptoms of Omicron can be different in everyone, but its symptoms are more fatigue, body aches and headache in puberty. On the other hand, like Delta, during the infection people may loose their awareness of the taste and aroma in this version too.

Vaccination Protection

The expert panel of Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) has given nod to administer India's indigenous Covid-19 vaccine ‘Covaxin’ in children aged two to 18. The Covaxin has received the WHO approval for emergency-use listing (EUL) on November 3.

Associate director of Delhi's Rainbow Children's Hospital, Dr Nitin Verma said, “That's not to say that they will get severe disease, but they will certainly be at enhanced risk for developing Covid-19. So, if all the adults around them are vaccinated and practice Covid-appropriate behaviour, then we can protect the children,” quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
