How to be safe in your workspaces in the times of Corona?

As the year started, Corona was just the name of a wildly sold Beer brand. Things escalated when on 24th March, a nationwide lockdown was announced. Life came to a halt, economy came to a halt, travel got upended and offices got shut. People seemed to be inevitably shut in their homes, many people got unemployed and on the verge of exhausting their savings.

With restrictions easing down in Lockdown4.0 and offices reopening again in several parts of the country, India’s working class, which initially complained about staying cooped up indoors, now find themselves reluctant to step out of their homes, after two months of working from home.  During such times, when the cases of Corona escalating day-by-day here is a little guide to help you out when you resume your work.

Must Have’s

1.Sanitizer

Sanitizer and COVID might just be the most used word this year. Which is why it means it is as important and helpful when leaving your house. Going to office means one thing for sure and that is you have to be prepared with a sanitizer. For a much easier application, carry one in a small and handy spray bottle and one normal pocket sized. The spray sanitizer is easier to use when it comes to sanitizing your bags and belongings, while the gel pocket sized is good for easy application on the body.

2. Extra cloth mask

It’s very difficult to go anywhere outside the house without a mask, yet it is highly advised to always carry an extra one, should you forget, or somehow ravage the one you already have.

3. Pair of Gloves

A pair of rubber gloves are really handy, should you come across a situation wherein you have to touch some foreign surface. The best part about them is that they are easily reusable, just put on some sanitizer on them and they are good to go.

4. Disinfectant wipes

Disinfectant wipes seems like a fancy item you would not be sure of whether to buy or not. But here’s the thing, these are really useful and can be used to sanitize a lot of things where the sanitizer might not be as efficient. For example: surfaces of your gadgets like phone and laptop screens that you can’t simple spray with a liquid.

Must Dos

1. Sanitize your Personals

Sanitizing your personals is a very important task, not just for you, but for the safety of the other employees working with you. Make it a habit of sanitizing your bags, coffee mugs, water bottles, even your phones and earphones or basically anything you maybe carrying from home.

2. Maintain a distance

ALWAYS, maintain a distance from your co-workers, even during breaks. The norms may have relaxed, but the peril that is Corona, is still very much prevalent.

3. Avoid touching face

Often times, at a workplace, one touches many surfaces that may have many viruses and germs. The best way to go is to avoid touching your face and mask constantly. If the need be, make sure you sanitize your hands first and they go about your way.

4. When in doubt, stay home

If your body is showing, the slightest bit of symptoms, the best you can do is quarantine yourself effective immediately and inform the staff that may have been in the slightest bit of contact with you. Again, it’s not just for your safety alone, but for that of the whole office.
