Sattu is one of the staple foods for the summer season in India. Prepared from the roasted chana, pulses, and cereals, sattu keeps the body temperature cool and avoids heatstroke. With its great digestive properties, sattu can be incorporated into the diet whether you are trying to lose weight or working out to build muscles. This flour can be consumed as a drink by adding salt and water or as a delicacy like sattu ka paratha.
Ingredients needed to prepare Sattu ka paratha
Sattu - 2 cup
Wheat flour - 3 cup
Grated/Grinded Garlic - 5 garlic cloves
Finely chopped Onion - 2
Grated Ginger - 1 tbsp
Ajwain - 1/2 tbsp
Chopped Green Chilli - 3
Chopped Green Coriander - 1 tbsp
Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
Amchur powder - 1 tbsp
Ghee - 2 tbsp
Oil - as required
Salt - as per taste
Procedure to follow
- First and foremost, take wheat flour in a bowl and knead it to make the dough. Add ghee and salt as per taste while kneading with the help of water. The dough should not be too soft or too hard.
- Keep the dough aside for some time.
- Take a bowl and add sattu, garlic, ginger, onion, lemon juice, coriander, amchur, green chili, ajwain, and salt and mix the ingredients thoroughly with the help of 2-3 tbsp water.
- Now take the dough and knead it again to make it smooth and make small balls out of it.
- Roll the dough balls like chapatti and put the sattu mixture in the center and fold it to make a ball.
- Now roll the ball again and put the paratha on a pre-heated Tawa or non-stick pan for a few seconds.
- Turn to the other side and cook it for a few seconds until it gets golden brown from both sides.
- Enjoy the delicacy with curd, pickle, and tomato ketchup.
