Weather Update: IMD Predicts Light Rainfall in Delhi NCR

As per the weather forecast by the IMD, cloudy skies, light rainfall, or thundershowers are likely to prevail over the course of the end of the week in Delhi-NCR.

On Friday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted light drizzling and strong winds speeding up to 30 to 40 kmph to prevail in Delhi NCR. Cloudy skies, light rainfall, or thundershowers are also expected over the course of the end of the week in Delhi-NCR.

The maximum temperature for the day is likely to settle at around 34 degrees Celsius. On Thursday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 31.9 degrees Celsius, which is three degrees beneath the extensive stretch of normal. On Thursday, the climate observatories in the city recorded hints of downpour or extremely light precipitation.

The Western Disturbance 

A western disturbance has been influencing portions of northwest India. A very much stamped low-pressure region likewise lies over Saurashtra and the bordering Northeast Arabian Sea. 

Sharing on Twitter, the IMD wrote, "A depression has formed over northeast Arabian Sea at 0830 hours IST of today, about 260 km west-southwest of Naliya (Gujarat), 350 km west-northwest of Porbandar (Gujarat), 270 km south of Karachi (Pakistan). To move west-northwestwards away from the Indian coast." 


The monsoon trough, a low-pressure region related to the rainstorm, is dynamic and lies south of its generally expected position, as indicated by the IMD. Nonetheless, it is probably going to be dynamic and will waver around its expected situation for the following five days.

Monsoonal rainfall is expected soon 

As per the weather forecast on Thursday for the week from August 18 to 24, the IMD  said that the monsoon is probably going to be north of its generally expected position during the primary half of the week. 

Dispersed or genuinely inescapable precipitation alongside separated weighty precipitation movement is logical over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand from Aug 12 to 16.
