Many parts of North India may experience heavy rainfall in the coming days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted more rain in north India for the next three to four days. 

According to the IMD, heavy rainfall is expected in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu, and Kashmir as well as adjoining northern plains including Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Uttar Pradesh. There is a possibility of fairly widespread/extended rain over Jammu and Kashmir and West Uttar Pradesh today, along with some isolated heavy rains and thundershowers or thundershowers (July 29, 2022).

Prediction by the India Meteorological Department 

As per the Weather agency, "The western end of monsoon trough at mean sea level is near its normal position and the eastern end is north of its normal position. The western end of monsoon trough is very likely to shift northwards during next 2-3 days."

Weather Forecast for several states 

Fairly widespread/widespread rain with isolated heavy rain and thunder or lightning is very likely over Jammu and Kashmir and West Uttar Pradesh today (29 July 2022). According to the Met Office, similar weather conditions will continue in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh till July 31 and eastern Uttar Pradesh till August 1.
