Weather Update: IMD forecasts Cold Wave and Heavy Rain

The bitter cold in January continues to spread in the North India region including the national capital Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand. As per the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), cold wave conditions will prevail today in many states of North India with dense fog.
As per the weather forecasting agency Skymet, a cyclonic circulation is persisting over Haryana and adjoining parts of Northwest Uttar Pradesh. Due to which there is an outbreak of cold wave in the north and central parts of the country.
Severe Cold Wave in Delhi
Severe cold continues in the national capital Delhi. The Meteorological Department has predicted a very cold day in the national capital Delhi. Next week the maximum temperature may remain around 17 to 20 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature may be around 7 to 9 degree Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of rain in the national capital on January 19.
Heavy Rainfall predicted
According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain may occur in some parts of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Northeast India, Sikkim and Andaman and Nicobar Islands today. Apart from this, there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Muzaffarabad and Ladakh.
