Weather Update: Heatwave in Delhi, City on Yellow Alert for the next 3 days
The heatwave conditions may prevail for 2-3 days. Rainfall is expected to provide relief soon.

In most parts of northwest India, the temperature is likely to increase by 2 degrees Celsius in the next 3 days, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD). In the recent weather forecast, the IMD stated that for the next five days the heatwave conditions are likely to prevail over the areas Vidarbha, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh. However, till April 30, the conditions of heatwave will prevail over Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, interior Gangetic West Bengal, and interior Odisha. In the areas of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi the conditions will prevail till May 1, in Bihar, they will prevail till April 29.
Chhattisgarh will have to suffer the heatwave conditions during April 28-30, and northern parts of Gujarat will witness the same on April 28. As per the data shown by the MeT department, the maximum temperatures were recorded between 43 degrees Celsius and 45.6 degrees Celsius in the northwest regions of India.

For today, April 28, the weather agency has forecasted the maximum temperature in the national capital to hover around 43 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature to remain around 23 degrees Celsius followed by the heatwave. For Friday, April 29, the maximum temperature is predicted to reach around 44 degrees Celsius.
Rain can bring relief
As per Skymetweather, under the influence of Western disturbance, light to moderate rain followed by thunderstorms and gusty winds is expected over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad between April 28 and May 1. Uttarakhand is likely to receive rainfall between April 29 and May 1.

The yellow alert issues in the national capital
For the weather-related warnings, the weather department uses four-color codes - Green is for no action needed, Yellow means stay updated, Orange is to be prepared, and Red signifies to take action.
As per the heatwave conditions, the IMD has issued a yellow alert for northwest India. It said, that people staying in these areas should avoid direct heat exposure, and wear lightweight, light-colored, and loose clothes made up of cotton.
