Weather Update: Delhi NCR to swelter under Heatwave Again
The IMD predicts heatwave conditions in the national capital for next week. Maximum temperature may cross 40 degrees Celsius.

On Wednesday, the national capital got relief from the sweltering heat as it received rainfall followed by a hailstorm. As per the weather forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the heatwave is expected to prevail in the national capital next week.
The Maximum and Minimum temperatures
The Met department said that the maximum temperature is likely to hover around 39-40 degrees Celsius on Friday and 41-42 degrees Celsius on Saturday. From Monday onwards, the city will witness the heatwave conditions coming back into force with rising mercury.

Heatwave conditions to prevail again
The Met department declares heatwave conditions when the mercury levels cross 40 degrees Celsius and reach at least 4.5 notches above normal. A severe heatwave is announced when the maximum temperature reaches more than 6.4 notches above the normal temperature.
In a statement, the IMD said that heatwave conditions are likely to prevail in the areas over north Maharashtra on May 5, in Rajasthan from May 7-9, in South Haryana, southwest Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Vidarbha on May 8, and 9.
Weather forecast for this week
As per IMD, the weather in the national capital will remain pleasant on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The sky will remain cloudy with a possibility of rainfall. Due to the western disturbance, winds are likely to blow at a speed of 30-40 kmph in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi.
On Friday, the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 39 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
