Weather Forecast: IMD Predicts Rainfall in Delhi-NCR

There is a possibility of thunderstorms with rainfall in Delhi and its adjoining areas.

On Saturday, the minimum temperature in Delhi has reached 26.9 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is likely to settle at around 41 degrees Celsius, as per the weather forecast agency, IMD. 

The vice-president of meteorology and climate change at Skymet Weather, Mahesh Palawat said that a Mild dust storm along with rain and hail is likely to be seen over South Delhi, Faridabad, Palwal, Agra, Mathura, Hodal, and Narnaul.

The Weather Forecast 

As per the weather forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of thunderstorms with light to moderate intensity rain and gusty winds with a speed of 30-40 kmph would occur over and in the adjoining areas of Kurukshetra, Karnal (Haryana) Gangoh, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh). 

For the upcoming four to five days, the temperature is likely to reach 42 degrees Celsius however, there is no prediction of the heatwave to prevail in the national capital and its adjoining areas. 

In a statement, IMD said, "As per the latest meteorological indications, westerly winds have strengthened in the lower levels over the south Arabian Sea and deepened. As per satellite imagery, there is an increase in cloudiness over the Kerala coast and adjoining the southeast Arabian Sea. Hence, conditions are becoming favorable for monsoon onset over Kerala during the next 2-3 days." 

As per the weather forecast, rain is also expected in the isolated areas over Uttarakhand, north Punjab, northern Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and eastern Rajasthan.
