When we think of cops, the first thing that comes to mind is how they mostly tend to be rude and crass, but this traffic cop here has proven that not all cops are bad, some have a heart made of gold and are more than willing to go out of their way to save a life, even if it is a bird’s.

A video of a traffic policeman from Bengaluru climbing a hoarding without any safety gear to save a pigeon has gone viral online. The clip was shared by IPS officer Kuldeep Kumar Jain on Twitter.

The clip has gone viral online and has divided the internet as the policeman risked his life for the same. The video was shared on Twitter and has over one lakh views.

In the 27-second clip, a traffic policeman named Suresh from the Rajajinagar traffic police station can be seen climbing a hoarding to rescue a pigeon. He had no safety gear but risked his life to untie the thread that was wrapped around the bird.

Taking to Twitter he wrote, “The hidden and unexplored side of policemen. Well done Mr Suresh.” The video has over 2.26 lakh views and 5,600 likes. It has gone viral and has received a mixed response from netizens.

While some has praised him for his courage and selflessness, others have called for more safety measures for cops. "This is beyond the call of his duty. Please ensure he is suitably awarded," a user wrote. Another user commented, "Sir, without safety and precautions please don't encourage such actions."

“Excellent intent and gesture. however, it would have been better to see the policeman able to quickly arrange and use safety gears. Can we equip our PCR vehicles with emergency/ safety kits, and train our staff to use those?” another person suggested.
