As per the civic report of Monday 51 new cases of deadly dengue had been recorded in the national capital within past week of September. Around 10 out of 51 cases are recorded under the untraced after investigation category. Out of the total new cases 41 were recorded 41 were recorded in areas under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
After this total number of active cases has sum up to 295 in Delhi which is also considered as the highest surge of the year. A senior civic officer pointed towards an upsurge in the number of cases in the coming week as a result total number of cases may reach above 300. However he denied explaining it in detail.
Surprisingly 156 out of 295 cases which were recorded in this year have been found marked under the untraced category. The civic officials tried to justify the steady surge and made the following statement, “mostly due to government hospitals not feeding the correct details of patients”.
The capital had recorded 36 new cases in the first week of September. Out of these 18 got marked under the untraced after investigation category. So a total of 133 cases have been recorded this year which belong to areas under the MCD. Only 5 cases had been recorded in areas under the New Delhi Municipal Council.
As per records the total case count of Delhi was 158 January 1 to September 10. So this clearly indicates that the number of cases this year is twice the number of cases that were recorded in the same period last year. The caseload rose massively to 1,196 and 6,739 in October and November respectively. Apart from this 63 cases of malaria and 14 cases of Chikungunya are also recorded in the capital of this year.
