On social media a video is going viral in which Baba Ramdev is seen saying that “there is no power in anyone's father who can arrest Ramdev. They make noise on social media that do arrest, sometimes this and sometimes that. Sometimes they say thug Ramdev, sometimes Mahathag Ramdev, Arrest Ramdev, some people run these news, let them run.”

Baba Ramdev has made this statement during an online meeting on the trend of #arrestbabaramdev on social media. The Indian Medical Association has sent a defamation notice to Swami Ramdev, the head of the Patanjali Yogpeeth. This notice states that Baba Ramdev should apologize publicly for his statement within 15 days, Otherwise the IMA will stake a claim of 1000 crores rupees against him. The doctors' organization has demanded that Ramdev have to apologize in writing against this statement, otherwise this claim will be legally denied.

Ramdev questioned IMA

After being forced by IMA to withdraw his statements, Baba Ramdev asked 25 questions to IMA on Monday. He asked whether allopathy provides permanent relief from diseases like high blood pressure and diabetes? Whether the pharmaceutical industry has permanent treatment for diseases like thyroid, arthritis, asthma and colitis? Whether allopathy had fatty liver (enlarged liver) and liver cirrhosis drugs? And so on.

The IMA had objected to the video that went viral on social media in which Ramdev has claimed that allopathy is 'rubbish science' and that Remedisvir, Faviflu and other such drugs were approved by the Drug Controller General of India for treatment of Covid-19 have failed to treat patients. Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Sunday described the statement of yoga guru Ramdev about allopathy as 'very unfortunate' and asked him to withdraw it, after which Ramdev withdrew the statement.
