Last decade had witnessed a rapid change in this fast developing world. However an upsurge in levels of stress, anger and anxiety has also been recorded along with continuous development. The anger within people is increasing day by day it is even more within the women.

Gallup World Poll conducted a survey of 1.2 million people in 150 countries from 2012 to 2021 to trace the changing mental state of people. He noticed the level of anger and stress was the same in men and women before the last decade which projects an increase of stress in women.

Anger level is 6% higher in women as compared to men. Also the level of stress and anger among women is India and Pakistan is 12% that equals twice the rise in anger level of women in the world. Notably the anger level of men in India is 27.8%, it is 40.6% among women. Corona even worsened the situation.

Experts have mentioned the reason behind these happenings. American writer Soraya Shemli, who wrote the book ‘Rage Becomes Her’ on women’s anger, claimed “Women’s participation in services like health is more, but they get less salary than work. Expectations are high from them; the same is expected from women in their homes as well. Because of this anger is increasing in them”.

Psychologist Dr. Lakshmi Vijay Kumar explains “In all the countries, women became more educated than before and started doing jobs. This gave them confidence about self-reliance, but the patriarchal system is still intact in homes, while equality is talked about outside”.

The women are feeling frustrated out of such imbalance and raising their voice against it that takes the form of anger.  Earlier anger was considered to be against the virtues of perfect women. As this moral pressure has reduced due to change in mind-set of the people, nothing can obstruct a woman from expressing her feelings.
