A bomb blast happened in Bihar’s Sasaram on Saturday and several people were injured in the blast. Dharmendra Kumar, Sasaram DM stated “there was a bomb blast in Sasaram. Injured people were referred to BHU hospital. We’re investigating all the angles right now. The cause of the blast is unknown.” The police also said that “the blast was reported at a shanty and a scooty has been recovered from the area. Prima facie it does not appear to be a communal incident.”

The blast happened a day after communal clashes erupted in Bihar over Ram Navami celebrations on 31st March. 45 people have been arrested due to the riots and communal violence. Several vehicles and houses have been torched and many people have ended up injured. Section 144 of the CrPC has been imposed in Bihar’s Sasaram due to the violence, as per the rules not more than 5 people can gather in public along with few other rules to prevent disturbances.

The police team and Para Military forces conducted a flag march in Sasaram on Saturday. The communal tensions in Bihar rose on Saturday after 2 groups clashed in 2 different regions in Bihar that left 3 people injured with bullet injuries. The clashes occurred in the Paharpur area in Bihar Sharif and the Khasganj locality in the Sohsarai police station area according to the locals. Clashes happened in Nalanda’s Biharsharif, Rohtas Sasaram on March 31st when Union Home Minister Amit Shah was scheduled to visit but due to imposition of Section 144 his visit to Sasaram in Bihar’s Rohtas has been called off.
