Rahul Gandhi may become the leader of Congress

As per the sources, Rahul Gandhi may become the leader of the Congress party in Lok Sabha. Rahul Gandhi's mother Sonia Gandhi and sister Priyanka Gandhi has taken the responsiblity for the same. It is believed that Congress party can change its leader in the Lok Sabha. In the media report it has been said that the name of Rahul Gandhi is at the forefront in the race of becoming the leader in the Lok Sabha. However, Congress leaders say that nothing can be said officially about this yet, because Rahul Gandhi is yet to give his consent on this decision. 

There is a discussion going on in the Congress for the appointment of a new leader in the Lok Sabha. Meanwhile, as reported by  Hindustan Times, two Congress leaders say that Interim President Sonia Gandhi and General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi are trying their best to get Rahul Gandhi accepted for this post. 

The leaders also mentioned that if Rahul Gandhi agrees, then the chair of Congress President can be given to someone outside the party. Earlier, 23 leaders have wrote to Sonia Gandhi that their is a need of change in Congress. It is believed that the decision on the election of the Congress President can be taken later, because the tenure of the current All India Congress Committee is till 2022.

However, there is also a fact that not everyone in the Congress wants Rahul Gandhi to be appointed to this post. At present, the leader of Congress in the Lok Sabha is Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury. Rahul Gandhi has been attacked by BJP continously for not being present in Parliament. Along with this, BJP has been targeting him for not being present in the meetings of the Parliamentary Committee. Questions are being raised on Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury. In West Bengal, under his leadership, the Congress has not won a single seat in the assembly elections.
