Pulwama martyr's widow commissioned into Indian Army
Widow of Pulwama martyr has been commissioned as Lieutenant in Indian Army.

167 gentlemen cadets and 31 women cadets are commissioned for Indian Army under the constraints of Covid-19. Nitika Kaul is one of the women cadets who are being commissioned into the Indian Army in a passed out parade at Officer's Training Academy on Saturday in Chennai.
Who is Nitika Kaul?
Nitika Kaul is the widow of Major Vibhuti Shankar Dhaundiyal who was martyred in Pulwama attack happened in 2019.
The Times of India has quoted Nitika's words as, "The last 11 months have made me learn so many things in life. I would like to thank everyone who kept faith in me. My mother-in-law, my mother and all those who have been part of the journey. The way you have kept faith in me has made my journey easier."
"It's like a colour world. The day I stepped in, I felt the same journey that he had traversed through. I am undertaking the same journey. I believe that he is always going to be a part of my life. Even today, he is somewhere around. I can feel that he is just holding me and saying you just did it." She added.
Appointed as Lieutenant
Nitika Kaul has got pinned the star of Lieutenant at the ceremony by the Lieutenant General Y. K. Joshi, General Officer Commanding - in - Chief (GOC - in - C), Northern Command.
