Monsoon update: Predictions by IMD
IMD predicted Southwest Monsoon 2021 to be normal in India.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted that the Southwest Monsoon 2021 is expected to be normal in North and South India, above normal in Central India, below normal in East and Northeast India.
IMD Director General Mrityunjay Mohapatra said "We are expecting a good monsoon, which will help the agriculture sector," in the online briefing. "Which may have an ideal error of more or less four percent", he added.
Arrival of monsoon in 2021
According to the Meteorological Department, this time the monsoon (Monsoon 2021) will knock in Uttar Pradesh around June 20. There is a possibility of more rain than normal this year.
Predicted forecast
According to the Meteorological Department, there will be less rain than normal in some states of East and North East. These include the eastern part of Bihar, some districts of West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, upper part of Himachal Pradesh, south western plateau, parts of Kerala and interior districts of Tamil Nadu.
The Meteorological Department had said that this year normal rain is expected. Rice, maize, soybean and cotton are sown in this monsoon rain that occurs between June and September.
