Lucknow: Tyre from Mirage Fighter Jet gets Stolen

The tyre of a Miraj fighter jet has been stolen from a truck carrying a consignment of military goods bound for Jodhpur airbase from Bakshi-ka-Talab airbase in Lucknow. The incident took place on the late night of 27 November at Shaheed Path in Lucknow, where the truck was going towards Jodhpur airbase. The truck driver, Hem Singh Rawat, confirmed that he was carrying a consignment of military goods from the Bakshi-ka-Talab airbase.
The incident
There was a jam on Shaheed Path and taking advantage of the situation, the miscreants in the Scorpio vehicle broke the strap used to tie the tire and stole it. By the time the truck driver came to know about this, the thieves ran away. He called the police who reached the spot and started investigation. The truck driver said that the thieves carried out the theft between 12:30 pm and 1 am when there was a jam on Shaheed Path due to which the truck was moving slowly.

DCP East Amit Kumar told that the incident is of November 27 and an FIR has been registered on December 1. He said that soon the culprits would be arrested and action would be taken against them. Amit Kumar told that the goods from Bakshi Ka Talab Airbase were going to Ajmer and the police is interrogating the suspects. DCP East said, "Five wheels of Mirage 2000 fighter jet were being flown from Lucknow airbase to Ajmer, of which one tire is missing. Further investigation is on."
