Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced to run a new campaign regarding corona vaccination. On Monday, he talked about starting the 'Jahan Vote, Wahan Vaccination' campaign. He claimed that people above 45 years of age would be vaccinated for corona within 4 weeks. This campaign has also been started in 70 wards of Delhi from June 7.
Under this program, Kejriwal, while addressing a virtual press conference, said "vaccination will be done at polling booths".Observing that some people above the age of 45 years are not getting vaccinated,he said "booth-level officers will identify those and visit their homes to give inoculation slots."
"Not many people are coming to vaccination centres. A team of booth level officers will visit every house in the next 2 days and provide a slot for vaccination. BLO will convince those who don't want to get the vaccine. The campaign will start today with 70 wards," Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said during a media interaction that "from today we will run a new campaign in Delhi - 'Jahan Vote, Wahan Vaccination'.
The central government is providing the vaccine for above 45 years within four weeks. 27 lakh people have received the first dose and 30 lakh people in the same age group have to do so. Without waiting for people, we are making arrangements to go door to door to get the vaccine. Wherever you go to cast your vote, go there and get vaccinated."
CM said that the blueprint of this entire campaign has been prepared. It will be started in 70 wards from today. Elaborating about the scheme, he said that "suppose there are 280 wards in Delhi, then this campaign will be conducted every week within 70-70 wards. Training is being given to BLOs on the first day. These officers will go door to door asking people for two days and will come on time and give slots for getting the vaccine. Those whom we gave slots and if they are not able to come to get the vaccine, then they will go to their homes again."
"Many activities are resuming in Delhi from today. But take all the necessary precautions to prevent coronavirus infection - wear a mask, maintain social distancing and keep washing your hands, do not lax at all. One has to stay safe from the virus and also bring the economy back on track at the same time," he said in a Tweet in Hindi.
"After covering all the 280 wards in four weeks, the government will be able to say that all those eligible (45 years and above) have received the vaccines,” Kejriwal said. "When we will get vaccines for the 18-44 age group in the required quantity, we will start this programme for them too,” he added.
