The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has announced to offer a free online course for students. The 12-day long course named as ‘Geoinformatics for Biodiversity Conservation Planning’ will be offered by Dehradun based Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), the ISRO centre for Remote Sensing and Geo-informatics. As mentioned in the brochure released by ISRO, "students will be awarded with certificates after completion of the course".
As per the brochure, IIRS has asked from interested students to submit their applications for the course by visiting the official website at www.iirs.gov.in. The last date to submit the applications is December 5.
The IIRS faculty members will be conducting the free online classes for the course between December 6-17. As per the brochure, "the course is designed for professionals from Central/State Govt./Private Organizations/NGO/students and researchers engaged in ecological studies."

- On the homepage, click on ‘Edusat’ under ‘IIRS Outreach programme’ to be found on ‘DISTANCE LEARNING’ tab.
- Click on ‘Online Registration Form’ of ‘Geoinformatics for Biodiversity Conservation Planning course'.
- Enter the details of candidate's educational qualifications.
- Click on ‘Preview’ after duly filling the form and check details.
- Click on ‘Submit’ and take a print out for future reference.
