In the game against Pakistan which was being played in Newlands in Cape Town, India had a target of 150 to chase down in order to win, the powerplay was productive and the team had a steady start but opener Yastika Bhatia got out with scoring 17 runs in 20 balls but Shefali Verma held on and kept the scoreboard going and took the score past 50 in 7 overs. A big blow came when Verma too got dismissed leaving India to score 85 more runs in 10 overs. Jemimah Rodrigues and Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur took control of the situation for the team but with the departure of Harmanpreet Kaur India was seen to be in a tricky situation where they needed 55 runs in 6 overs, this is when 2 players Jemimah Rodrigues and Richa Ghosh took hold of the situation, Richa Ghosh played some big hits and together they reached the target with still 7 balls to spare.

In the first innings where Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat, Indian bowlers surely performed well where Deepti Sharma was the first strike in Powerplay but the Pakistan players recovered quickly with Muneeba Ali and Bismah Maroof, in the end India was able to restrict the women in green at a score of 149/4 in 20 overs.

After the game Harmanpreet praised the performance of Jemimah Rodrigues and Richa Ghosh, she also expressed her confidence over her team and how prepared they are for the upcoming games and also stated that a win against Pakistan is always special.

Jemimah Rodrigues was named as the player of the match, next India would be facing West Indies.
