The government has issued new drone rules, the government has made the rules for flying drones in India even easier. The Civil Aviation Ministry has reduced the number of forms required to take permission for flying drones in the country from 25 to 5. Simultaneously, 72 types of fees on this have also been reduced. After the new rules, now you will have to pay a total of 4 types of charges. The new drone rules (Drone Rules, 2021) have also relaxes the the requirement of other approvals like unique authorization number, unique prototype identification number etc. 

New Drone Rules 2021

Let us tell you that the Ministry has issued Drone Rules 2021, in which they have eased the rules of Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Rules, 2021 (Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Rules, 2021). The new rules have kept the charges for flying the drone absolutely nominal and it will not have anything to do with the size of the drone.

In the new rules, the requirement of various types of approvals has also been removed, including its import clearance, approval of existing drones, operate permits etc. According to the new rules, permission will not be required to fly drones up to 400 feet in the "Green Zone" and 200 feet in the area between 8 and 12 km from the outer boundary of the airport. Green zone means an airspace of 400 feet vertical distance, which is not designated as red zone or yellow zone in the airspace map.
