A massive incident has taken place in Ghotki in Sindh province of Pakistan. At least thirty people are reported to have died in the collision of two trains here. According to the information, both Sir Syed Express train and Millat Express collided between Reti and Daharki. At the same time, 40 to 50 people were injured in this accident.
According to Radio Pakistan, this incident happened in the early hours of Monday and the death toll may increase. The seriously injured passengers have been admitted to the hospital while rescue operation has been started to rescue the passengers trapped in the bogies. Railways said that "the Millat Express was going from Karachi to Sargodha when its wheels derailed on the way. Meanwhile, Sir Syed Express going from Rawalpindi to Karachi hit it. After the accident, eight coaches of Millat Express and three coaches including the engine of Sir Syed Express derailed, while some coaches fell into the gorge."
Osman Abdullah, a police officer from Ghotki district of Sindh province, said, "At least 40 people have been injured in the accident. Villagers, rescue teams and police have taken the dead and injured passengers to nearby hospitals. Heavy machinery is needed for relief work, which has already been sent to the spot."
