Dreadful accident in Karnataka, 8 dead and many injured due to dynamite explosion

A sudden accident occurred in Karnataka on Friday. According to the information received, about 8 people lost their lives. Giving information about the accident, District Collector KB Sivakumar said that a dynamite blast occurred at a railway crusher site in Hanagodu village of Karnataka district on Friday, killing at least eight people.

 Police say the possibility of an explosion in the mine at Hunsandi near village Abbalagere has not been ruled out. To overcome this, a bomb disposal squad has been called and this entire area has been sealed.

According to information received, a massive explosion occurred near the gravel and boulder crushing facility at Shivamogga, that had send shockwaves not only to the hubs, but also to neighboring Chikkamagaluru and Davangere districts. An eyewitness claimed that the explosion was so strong and of such magnitude that the window panes were shattered, apart from cracks on many houses and roads.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi mourned the death of the victims of the blast due to the incident on Twitter. He tweeted, "Condolences to the bereaved families hurt by loss of life and property in Shivamogga. Prayer for early recovery of the injured. The state government is providing all possible help to the affected".

Geologists were contacted to confirm that the vibrations from the explosion were previously thought to be accidental earthquakes, but they denied recording shocks in any of their labs. "There was no earthquake. But an explosion occurred in Hunsur, on the outskirts of Shivamogga, under the limits of the rural police station," said a police officer.
