Delhi under Yellow Alert, New Restrictions imposed
Amidst rising cases of Covid-19 in Delhi, new restrictions are imposed.

On Tuesday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced that a Level-1 or 'Yellow' alert for COVID-19 restrictions will be in place in the national capital, as the COVID-19 positivity rate in the city exceeds 0.5 per cent. He announced that a detailed order on the implementation of the restrictions would be issued soon. The Delhi government had earlier prepared a Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), which lays out a four-tiered, colour-coded alert system to curb COVID, according to the severity of the outbreak in the national capital. Yellow Alert is the first level of sanctions under this scheme.
On Monday, 331 new cases were reported in Delhi and the positivity rate was 0.68 percent. The capital city has so far registered 165 cases of the highly-permeable Omicron variant.
