Couple spent Rs 1 crore in fake passports caught in Ahmedabad Airport
Hitesh and Binal were determined to settle abroad with their four-year-old daughter. But their decision to choose an easy illegal path proved to be a mistake.

A couple instead of landing in the US unfortunately found jail as their destiny. Hitesh and Binal were determined to settle abroad with their four-year-old daughter. But their decision to choose an easy illegal path proved to be a mistake.
An officer of the Special Operation Group which was investing in this case informed that Hitesh, an agriculturist aged 32 belonged to Singali village in Madhua Taluka in Gujarat. 30 years old Binal is his wife, who worked as a primary school teacher. The couple was stubborn about their desire to settle abroad. Hitesh has a sister who is well-settled in the USA with her husband. This intensified the couple’s dreams.
To realize their dreams, Binal left her government job. The couple managed to find a human smuggler who took Rs 1 crore in exchange for a promise to help the couple fly to the US and illegally arranged fake passports for them. Their duplicate passports failed to befool the airport staff which led to their arrest at Ahmedabad airport while trying to fly to Dubai on Sunday.
The immigration officer of Ahmedabad airport terminal 2 who caught the cheating pair discovered the couple’s previous attempt to fly with fake passports and how they were deported from Ireland to India stating that “They landed in Ireland in June 2018 and were deported in just four days. After they came back, Patels approached a human smuggler whom their brother-in-law had introduced to them. The agent may have removed the passport pages with stamp marking them as deportees and fixed new blank pages”.
Airport Police got complained about the couple and arrested them on the charges of cheating and forgery. Further investigation was handed over to SOG. An investment of Rs 1 crore and sacrificing of a demanded government job went in vain. A false shortcut leads to the couple ending up in jail and remitting any further chances for the fulfillment of their foreign dreams in the future.
