Cloudburst hits in J&K village, 5 dead, many missing
Cloudburst has hit village in Kishtwar of Jammu and Kashmir.

As per the officials, five people have died and around 40 are went missing after a cloudburst in a remote village in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir early this morning. Cloudburst and flash floods damaged at least eight homes. "Rescue teams have been rushed to Honzar village of Dacchan tehsil and further details are awaited", officials said.
“At around 4am today [Wednesday], a cloud burst over Honjar village in Dacchan area of Kishtwar district. We are getting reports that 28 people are missing. A search and rescue operation has been launched. We do not have the exact details for now. There’s no mobile phone connectivity in the area,” an officer said.
Kishtwar district police chief, SSP Shafqat Bhat said, “We have recovered five bodies so far from the debris. We believe that 30 to 40 people were in the village when the incident took place.”
Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh tweeted, "#Kishtwar Cloudburst: Just now spoke to DM Sh Ashok Sharma. Following cloudburst in Dachhan region, 30 to 40 persons missing, 4 dead bodies recovered so far. Rescue operations going on with help of SDRF and Army. Air Force authorities contacted for lifting the injured as andwhen required. Keeping close track of the situation. Every kind of further help will be provided as per requirement. #JammuAndKashmir"

IMD stated in an advisory, “Heavy rain may lead to flash flood, mudslide, landslide and waterlogging (in low lying areas). Accordingly, people are once again advised to remain alert and very cautious as water levels have risen in all rivers. Don’t venture out on hilly and landslide, mudslide prone areas.”
