After rigorous mass protest by Chandigarh University students the police arrested Sunny aged 23 who is said to be the boyfriend of the girl student who was accused of making videos. Another 31 year old man is also arrested from Shimla who was also involved in the scandal. All three accused were produced before the court which ordered them to stay in custody for seven days.

Chandigarh University has created a committee of seven members including women cell chairperson Dr. Ashita Chadda as the head of the committee and two students as representatives to investigate the video scandal. The University has declared holiday till September 24 due to rising tensions. The warden of the hostel is also suspended due to pressure.

The accused girl is being questioned by the police from Monday evening who according to SSP confessed that she has not made videos of any other girl. She only recorded clips of herself and sent them to her boyfriend Sunny who saved them in his device. This device has been found and sent to the forensic lab for detailed investigation. Another device that belongs to the girl is also recovered in which calls from Gujarat and Mumbai are also spotted.

As per police sources, a fourth person also seems connected to this scandal who was indulged in blackmailing the accused girl. A Special Investigation Team is formed which is searching this culprit. He is expected to be arrested soon. SSP Vivek Sheel Soni claimed that only one video that belongs to the accused girl has been made. Meanwhile her device was sent for forensic investigation.

As mentioned by the Punjab Police the news of the bathing videos of 60 girls being shared is no more than a rumour as no evidence regarding this has been found till now. However the students are still continuing the protest and some of their parents had also joined them. Parents took many girls to their home. The male students accused the University for locking their hostel gates to prevent them from joining in the protest.

The students have also blamed the University of bribing the Punjab Police to hide this matter so as to safeguard the reputation of the institution. According to sources no student has made suicide attempt. Only few students who fell unconscious out of anxiety were taken to the hospital. Many of the girls are still claiming of seeing their videos on porn sites.
