In a statement, Bharat Biotech said, "This represents one of the first approvals worldwide for COVID-19 vaccines for the 2-18 age group. Bharat Biotech sincerely thanks the DCGI, Subject Experts Committee, and CDSCO for their expedited review process. We now await further regulatory approvals from the CDSCO prior to product launch and market availability of Covaxin for children."

India is the second country where the corona vaccine has received a green signal for vaccinating young children. Earlier, Cuba started a vaccination campaign for children aged 2 to 11 years. In early September, the vaccination of children in Cuba has started. Corona vaccine is being provided to children above 12 years of age in many countries including America, Canada, Israel. While many countries like the European Union to the UK have approved it, but Cuba has left everyone behind in this matter. India has become the second country to approve the vaccination for children in the age group of 2 years to 18 years.
