Empowering Women

According to United Nations Population Fund, “Women empowerment is essential for the achievement of sustainable development. The full participation and partnership of both women and men is required in productive and reproductive life, including shared responsibilities for the care and nurturing of children and maintenance of the household.”

Education is a very important aspect to empowering. In the constitution of India it has been mentioned that everyone has a right to education. Being a patriarchal society, in earlier times women were not allowed to go to school and study. Even if they were allowed they had to drop out the school and get married as child. In such a scenario it became important to create awareness among women regarding their rights to equality.

As the current scenario, many schemes and programmes have been initiated by the government of India for women’s development. The women are getting educated, independent and empowered. They are excelling in every sphere of life.

Tina Dabi is serving the position of a sub-divisional magistrate since 2018.
