Amul and Mother Dairy Raises Milk Prices By Rs 2/Litre

Amul Taaza will move to Rs 25 for every 500 ml, and Amul Shakti will leap to Rs 28 for every 500 ml in Ahmedabad and Saurashtra markets. Mother Dairy's full cream milk will presently cost Rs 61 for every liter from Wednesday.

Amul and Mother Dairy Raises Milk Prices By Rs 2/Litre

Leading dairy products providers Amul and Mother Dairy have decided to hike the milk prices by Rs 2 per liter from Wednesday. The new rates have come into effect from August 17. 

In a press release, the dairy giant Amul stated, "The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), marketer of milk and milk products under the brand name of Amul, has decided to increase the milk prices by Rs 2 per liter in markets of Ahmedabad and Saurashtra of Gujarat, Delhi NCR, West Bengal, Mumbai, and all other markets where Amul is marketing its fresh milk effective from 17th August 2022."

The new rates 

The leading milk provider Mother Dairy stated, "Mother Dairy is compelled to raise its liquid milk prices by Rs 2 per liter with effect from August 17, 2022. The new prices will be applicable for all milk variants." 

After the most recent climb, the cost of Amul Gold will increment to Rs 31 for every 500 ml, Amul Taaza will move to Rs 25 for every 500 ml, and Amul Shakti will leap to Rs 28 for every 500 ml in Ahmedabad and Saurashtra markets, the organization said.

Mother Dairy's full cream milk will presently cost Rs 61 for every liter from Wednesday. Mother Dairy conditioned milk cost will leap to Rs 51 for each liter. Similarly, twofold conditioned milk cost will increment to Rs 45 for each liter. Cow milk costs have climbed to Rs 53 for every liter. Mass distributed milk (token milk) cost will increment to Rs 48 for every liter.

The reason behind the price hike 

In a press release, the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) stated about the reason for the price hike. They said, "This price hike is being done due to an increase in the overall cost of operation and production of milk. The cattle feeding cost alone has increased to approximately 20 percent compared to last year."
