It is probably the season of demeaning flight situations as another incident comes to light, this time occurring in an Air India flight travelling from New York to Delhi.
A drunk man urinated on a woman co-passenger travelling in the business class of an Air India flight in November and then left without facing any action. He allegedly unzipped and urinated on her and continued exposing himself until another passenger asked him to return to his respective seat. Followed by the situation the woman complained to the crew but they didn’t extend much help, they provided her with fresh pyjamas and slippers as her clothes, shoes and bag was soaked and was provided with a crew seat but after sometime was asked to return to her own which was covered with sheets but reeked of urine but when she refused she was given another crew seat where she sat for the rest of the journey.
Distressed with the situation and unprofessional behavior of the crew she wrote a complain to N Chandrasekaran and narrated the incident she also alleged that despite having empty seats she was asked to return to her own soiled seat and she also wrote that the crew told her they would get her a wheelchair to clear customs early but they left her in a waiting area, after 30 mins she had to clear customs and get luggage by herself. The disappointment of the woman is clear and Air India has said, “The passenger has been banned from flying with Air India for 30 days or till the decision of the internal committee, whichever is earlier. If found guilty action will be taken against the unruly passenger as per regulatory guidelines”. An enquiry has been set and reports have been asked from the airline so that required action an be taken.
