Manit Joura, Sucheeta Trivedi, Sharad Malhotra share what the not-so-nice 2020 has taught them
2020 has been an different experience for all of us and like us, it has also taught our TV celebs a thing or two…

10 years down the line, what all had we dreamt about the year 2020. From having flying cars to human like robots, none of us expected how this year in particular would be a dark one for most of us. Well, its a sigh of relief that 2020 will end in a few hours and as we happily gear up to bid good-bye to 2020, there is a lot of not-so-nice things that have happened this year. Covid-19 being the highlight, 2020 changed the way of life we all led, from the pandemic, to the lockdown and what not, this year in particular has had.
It has been a life altering experience for all of us and while we all have dealt with the hurdles 2020 threw on us in our own way, it also taught us a great deal of things. Gave us time to think and retrospect life, spend time with our loved ones. And now as we leave this new normal behind and enter into 2021, let us see how some of TV celebs look back at this year…
Aniruddh Dave
“I can't say that 2020 was not a good year for me. I had the most amazing time with my wife at home. I did a film with Akshay Kumar called "Bell Bottom", then Shubhi and I announced our pregnancy, what more could I have asked for. I am looking forward to the birth of our first child in 2021. Also, I was always a cleanliness freak but because of the lockdown and the pandemic I have become more particular about it. So, this is something that I will continue.”
Sucheeta Trivedi
“Initially in the lockdown, I didn't know what to do, and since I am into interior designing, I started redecorating my house. I guess when you do things you love you are the happiest, so I had an amazing time during the lockdown. Then I got busy with my show "Indiawaali Maa" and I am loving the audience's response to it. Looking forward to more love from the audience in 2021.”
Sharad Malhotra
“This year, during the lockdown, my wife and I have cleaned every nook and corner of the house, from cleaning utensils to dusting and mopping, we did everything. But what I have continued is helping my wife in doing the dishes post-dinner. Even if I come late from the shoot, I help her out. Also, when I have an off, I make tea for her. And it's a good habit that I have picked up on.”
Manit Joura
“I did every possible thing, right from washing utensils, mopping the floor, watering the plants to giving bath to the pets, dusting because there was no house help. Initially it was difficult but later it became therapeutic. I devoted a lot of time at home, saw my plants grow, it was such a satisfying feeling. Having said that all these things kept me away from social media and I strongly wanted to stay away from social media. I have huge respect for all the homemakers, the ladies of our houses, as it’s a tough job and we don’t appreciate them enough. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea so this lockdown made me realise to not be dependent.”
Vijayendra Kumeria
“2020 was the most unexpected year, and it's not like that I have never done the household chores before, but during the lockdown, I started cooking, and now I try to make one full meal every day. I am not a great cook, but recipes on YouTube and Google help, and thanks to 2020 I think I will continue cooking.”
Meera Deosthale
“2020 was an unexpected year for me. During the lockdown, my show "Vidya" went off-air and Vidya's story was left incomplete. So that was the most upsetting part of 2020 for me. But I am keeping myself positive and looking forward to getting some good opportunities in 2021.”
Rajesh Kumar
“2020 was an unexpected year, who would have thought that we will be locked up inside our homes for such a long time. But when you are with family everything seems alright. In 2021, I am looking forward to going on a trip with my family. My kids are also bored of sitting at home, so might take them somewhere free from COVID.”
Well, while we owe thanks to 2020 for the little joys of life, we hope 2021 turns out to be a better year. We wish you all a happy and safe new year.
