Today is the birthday of Rajesh Khanna. Born on 29 December 1942 in Amritsar, Jatin Khanna, who later named himself Rajesh Khanna for a film career, gave his first glimpse of stardom in Bollywood. Some of his highly successful films were Kati Kite, Anand, Aan Milo Sajna, Mehboob's Henna, Haathi Mere Saathi, Doos Rasta, Dushman, Chef, My Life Partner, Joru Ka Ghulam, Anurag, Daag, Namak Haram, Humshakal etc. He was also awarded the Filmfare Award for Best Actor for his strong performance in the film Anand.

In 1973, Rajesh Khanna married a very young budding actress Dimple Kapadia and became the father of two daughters Twinkle and Rinke. However, their marriage did not last long and nowadays the two live separately. Rajesh was also the Lok Sabha MP of Congress from New Delhi between 1991 and 1996.
